Dad was born in Dayton but by the time he attended school they lived in and around the Jaskson/Chillicothe area in small farming communities. He started elementary school at the Washington Township School in Wellston, Ohio. He later attended Sunnyslope, Centralia, and Liberty Fractional, before going to Chillicothe High School in 1944.
